Evan Fournier |
TNT's David Aldridge reports that the Magic are unlikely to sign Nicholson to a contract extension. Similarly, a deal for Fournier is also unlikely, Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports reports.
The Magic have the opportunity to sign Nicholson and Fournier to extensions by Monday's 5 p.m. ET deadline since both players are former first-round picks entering the last year of their rookie-scale contracts.
Falling out of the rotation towards the end of last season, Andrew Nicholson has only made one four-minute appearance in three games this year.
Evan Fournier, on the other hand, who played for the Denver Nuggets, has delivered a Sixth Man role for the Magic since being acquired in a trade for Arron Afflalo last summer. Fournier set career highs last season of 12 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists along with 37.8 percent shooting from being the arc in 28.6 minutes performing mostly as a point or shooting guard.
Both Andrew Nicholson and Evan Fournier were drafted 19th and 20th, in the 2012 NBA Draft.
