For the month of November, Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns and New York Knicks center Kristaps Porzingis were named the Rookies of the Month by the NBA.
Towns is second among rookies in scoring (14.4 points per game) and first in rebounding (9.4 per game), blocks (2.2 per game) and free throw percentage (86.9 percent). The 7-footer out of Kentucky did most of his damage as a teenager, having just turned 20 on November 15.
After being booed mercilessly on Draft Night, Porzingis has proven doubters wrong in his debut season. The 7-foot-3 Latvian is third among first-year players in scoring (13.7 points per game) and second in rebounding (9.3 per game) and blocked shots (1.9 per game).
